To continue the experience of the workshop and performance « Building Refuges and Sanctuaries. A decolonial Feminist Antiracist Practice », conceived and led by Françoise Vergès on August 12 and 13 during the Berlin Biennale, this new episode of the Museum of Breath explores with her the traces of refuges in the marronages of yesterday and the escapes of today. Sulti, one of the workshop participants, responds to her by recounting a journey of exile from Kurdistan to Germany.
This sound work is part of the podcast series MUSEUM OF BREATH.
With: Sulti (storytelling and manifesto); Françoise Vergès (storytelling and lecture); Olivier Marboeuf (composition, poems, recordings); Victor Donati (recordings, editing, sound design); Blessing Tony and Shela Sheikh (voices). Françoise Vergès reads a fragment of the poem VALI POUR UNE REINE MORTE by Boris Gamaleya (1973).
